If you want to splurge, nothing beats luxurious soft Grade 1 alpaca roving from the Mill. This roving is a dream to spin as the fibers easily slip by each other for great control over the diameter and twist of the yarn. 
Grade 1 is called ultra fine and in some older grading systems was refered to as "Royal Baby" fine.  The fibers measures 1ess than 20 microns.
This quality of fiber is considered an exellent choice for any project that will be worn against the skin. So any apparel like hats, scarves, shirts, sweaters, dresses, gloves, etc would be very comfortable and warm.
